In this paper, we make a theoretical review about the way in which structural prospects processing approach to understanding arguments and adjuncts. In the psycholinguistic literature, there is a discussion around a possible advantage in processing arguments, reporting an effect of argumental status especially in the analysis of ambiguous sentences. Considering that a parser would not be guided by structural information concerning the argument structure when faced with ambiguous structures, our aim is to show how this approach has dealt with the apparent advantage of arguments over adjuncts.Downloads
