Abstract

To begin a survey of communication research in Rio Grande do Sul it is necessary to define and delimit its scope. It is not easy to demarcate the limits, because in pointing them we may be excluding important productions that mark the trajectory of research in the South. However, it is imperative to do so if we are to carry out the task.
