The present article aims to discuss the collaborative work evidenced in the teaching practice of literacy teachers participating in a training course mediated by the Institutional Program of Initiatives for Teaching (Pibid). The Pibid is a public policy implemented by the Federal Government, aiming to qualify the initial teacher training of undergraduate students and also the continued teacher training in service. The research is characterized as a qualitative case study. In this research, two teachers of the first and second year classes, the school director and the pedagogical coordinator of the initial years have participated. For data collection, the following instruments were used: direct observation of the teaching practice and semi-structured interviews. The data were treated by content analysis. Data analysis points to the benefits of collaborative work between teachers and students in elementary school.
