"Evocação Lírica de Lisboa": Cecilia Meireles's enchanted city

Cecília Meireles devoted herself in the brazilian literary scene as one of the most important names of national poetry. However, her prose work, edited with more pomp since the 90’s, comes to add itself with her poetic work and to reveal characteristics of her performance in journalism and the writing of essays. Among the tracks of Cecília Meireles in Brazil’s newspapers, for over 30 years, this research detaches the texts that are gathered under the denomination of traveling essays, results from the author’s displaces for approximately 18 countries and over 60 cities. With so many different destinies, here it points out her passage for Portugal, registered in the essay “Lyrical evocation of Lisbon”. Rescuing over ten years later, the memories of the travel happened in 1934, this present text comes to confirm the lyrism and the subjectivity characteristical of the author’s work.Downloads
