Abstract

This article aims to investigate the representation of violence against children in the children’s literature work Corda bamba (2018), by Lygia Bojunga. Violence is understood as any action that annihilates or reduces someone’s dignity, an aspect that, as part of the relationship between individuals, makes the conception of identities present. As the child, in his relationship with the adult, is viewed as another, violence against this social group is conceived from the perspective of identity constitution. Corda Bamba (2018) is analyzed from this angle, as a narrative in which psychological violence against children and the denial of their identity are manifested under a false veil of care and protection. The article demonstrates that Lygia Bojunga makes use of narrative strategies and the symbolism of language to compose her text, which, although it allows for different interpretations, requires the reader to position himself in the face of the treatment given to the child, transforming it into an object of knowledge and of reflection on the represented reality

Amanda Santos da Silveira Fernandes, Universidade Feevale, Programa de Pós-Graduação em Processos e Manifestações Culturais, Novo Hamburgo/RS, Brasil.

Has a master's degree in the Postgraduate Program University Cultural Processes and Manifestations Feevale (2022) and a Bachelor's degree in Literature – Portuguese/English by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Rio Grande do South (2020). Active from 2018 to 2022 as a teacher at State Public Network of Rio Grande do Sul. He is a scholarship holder CAPES Doctorate in the Postgraduate Program in Cultural Processes and Manifestations.

Professor and researcher at Feevale University, CNPq Productivity Fellow and Coordinator from the research group “Fiction by Machado de Assis: poetic system and context”. Among his productions that have children's literature as their theme, stand out the book Literature at school: proposals for teaching fundamental (2006), published by Editora Artmed, the organization of the book Texto Literário – Response to reader training challenge (2017), published by Oikos Editora, and countless articles.
