This paper analyzes the connections between the politics of Pernambuco and the Prata River around the year of 1817, focusing on a specific character: Felix Jose Tavares de Lira. In general terms, this consists in proposing analytical basis for comprehending the relationship between the Portuguese and Spanish worlds in the broad context of the Ancient Regime crisis in Iberian America.Downloads
