The book La dictadura Desde Francia, by researchers Lorenzo Jalabert D'Amado, José López Mazz and Denis Merklen (2022), makes use of extensive documentation published in 2014 by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministère des affaires étrangères – MAE), covering various aspects of the crisis of February 1973 and the subsequent coup of June 27 of the same year in Uruguay. They are mainly reports drawn up by French diplomatic representatives in the country and sent as "confidential" or "secret" documents, which constitute a source of incalculable value.
