FUNERARY ART: APPROPRIATION OF THE PIETÁ BY MARBLE WORKERS AND CONTEMPORARY SCULPTORS

The conventional cemeteries of the XX century, secularized, it keep on their ground a sacred architecture. Sometimes, the funerary art serves from the erudite art when this one it popularize. The objective of the present communication is to stablish a bridge between the past traditions – Pietá of Michelangelo and the current experiences – “Sepultamento” by Victor Brecheret and other works made by marbles of Italian origin.Downloads
