This paper deals about the debate that arosen in Germany after the u War World on the historical and/or theological contents of the Church's History. There is actually a discussion between the Church's History or the Religious History. The presentation is about the latest discussions on the II General Conferece: History of Latin America and Caribean Church, of Cehila, São Paulo (1995); they were gathered in Europe from the XVI International Theology Symposium, What is Church History, Pamplona (1995), and from the Symposium Religiosity and Historiography: the eruption of religious pluralism in Latin American, Köln (1996).
