Communists and the 1946’s Constituent - on occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1946 Constitution

This is an analysis of the sociopolitical context present in Brazil during the year 1945. Emphasis is given to the activity of the communists, directed to the fight for the convocation of a freely elected Constituent Assembly. With the convocation of elections for the Constituent Assembly, the communists elected a group of representatives, whose performance in the Assembly of 1946 is analyzed in this article.
