Mudança estrutural nas ciências humanas: diagnóstico e sugestões

Resumo

A mudança de paradigma das Geisteswissenschaften diz respeito a sua forma interna, a sua posição em relação às outras ciências, bem como a novas tarefas em um mundo transformado. A definição interna das Geisteswissenschaften não é elaborada com base em um critério invariável – como Geist; sua coesão se estabelece através de semelhanças de família. Externamente, sua separação inequívoca das ciências naturais tornou-se obsoleta e suas fronteiras em relação às ciências sociais e da cultura são, de todo modo, fluidas. A inserção institucional das Geisteswissenschaften deveria tornar-se claramente transdisciplinar – sob pena de não restar senão antiqüismo e limitação. As Geisteswissenschaften fariam bem em se confrontar com as diversas formas da pluralidade moderna, o que epistemologicamente significa desenvolver um relativismo esclarecido. Elas deveriam, ainda, libertar-se da velha ficção de culturas homogêneas e voltar-se para a transculturalidade presente e futura.

ABSTRACT

Structural change in human sciences: diagnosis and suggestions .
The paradigm change in the Geisteswissenschaften tells about its internal form, its position in relation to the other sciences, as well as new tasks in a changed world. The internal definition of the Geisteswissenschaften is not created based on an invariable criterium-like Geist; its coesion is established by family similarities. Externally, its unequivocal separation from the natural sciences became obsolete, and its frontiers with the social sciences and culture is, somehow, fluid. The institutional insertion of the Geisteswissenschaften should become clearly transdisciplinar, under the penalty of remaining only archaism and limitation. The Geisteswissenschaften should face the different forms of modern plurality, what means, epistemologically, to develop a clear relativism. They still should free themselves from the old fiction of homogenic cultures and turn to the current and future transcultural aspects.
