In the national political context, there are advancements and consensus in relation to the implementation of a diverse public policy concerning the indigenous school education. Even with the guarantee of the indigenous rights in the Federal Constitution of 1988, the Indian people have encountered difficulties in the inclusion in the educational system. Even though they live in the cities, the communities are supported by the legislation, however the specificities of the Indian culture are not respected, and this means that in the same school, there are Indians and non-Indians. The policy for cotes for Indians University students is far from attending their demands because they guarantee the Indian’s inclusion in the school but do not privilege their culture.Downloads
