O presente estudo partiu do questionamento sobre a exclusão da cultura popular no meio acadêmico-escolar e as possíveis causas dessa exclusão. Constituiu-se em uma pesquisa qualitativa (ALVES-MAZZOTTI & GEWANDSZNAJDER, 1998), mais especificamente, um estudo de cunho etnográfico, baseado na perspectiva intercultural crítica (CANEN, 1997), que busca a valorização da diversidade cultural e o desafio a preconceitos na educação e na formação docente.Descritores – Formação de Professores; diversidade cultural; multiculturalismo.
ABSTRACT – The present study left of the inquiry on the exclusion of the popular culture in the academic-school middle and the possible causes of that exclusion. It was constituted in a qualitative research (ALVES-MAZZOTTI & GEWANDSZNAJDER, 1998), more specifically, a study of stamp ethnography, based on the perspective critical intercultural (CANEN, 1997), that looks for the valorization of the cultural diversity and the challenge to prejudices in the education and in the educational formation.
