Abordaremos, neste texto, detalhes sobre estudos realizados com profes-sores, em especial os que destacam elementos sobre seu desenvolvimento profissional e sua motivação, levando em conta pesquisas, que utilizaram questionários e entrevis-tas, com 160 professores do ensino secundário, concluindo que há diversas constantes ou itinerários-tipo que caracterizam o percurso profissional de alguns desses profes-sores, definindo suas vivências e seu percurso de vida.Descritores – Desenvolvimento profissional; motivação; educação de professores.
ABSTRACT – This paper approaches studies developed with teachers, specially those related to their professional development and motivation, considering the ques-tionnaires and interviews carried out with 160 teachers of secondary schools, and concluding that there are several constant factors or typical paths characterizing the professional history of some of these teachers, and defining their life experiences and history.
