Abstract

The first day of school is usually marked by significant experiences, and is the start of a journey of getting to know oneself and others. This experience motivated the "I'm different!" project. It was carried out using a welcoming dynamic to promote discussion about accepting differences. The project included a number of fun activities to help the children understand that differences should not be a reason to segregate, exclude or inferiorize. The project made it possible to work on issues such as racism, bullying, discrimination against physical or intellectual disabilities, thus promoting friendly coexistence among the class.
