Sstarting with the idea elaborated by the historian Jerrold Ssiegel of a multidimensional self, made up of relational, reflective and corporeal dimensions, I intent to analyze the development of the concepts of equality and freedom in the theory of the philosopher John Rawls. In this I intent to forward a reading that show how a foundational anteriority of the concept of equality and a consequent deflation of the concept of freedom can provide a better comprehension of the serious question of pluralism in democratic societies, as well as the role of citizens in democracies.Downloads
