Abstract

This article explores the interconnectedness of Iris Murdoch's and Martha Nussbaum's perspectives on the relationship between narrative arts and morality. The study delves into the role of imagination and art in shaping moral development. The analysis unfolds in three essential phases. Firstly, I analyze Murdoch's insights concerning the nexus of morality and narrative arts. Subsequently, Nussbaum's contributions to this theme are presented. Finally, I examine where the philosophers' ideas overlap and differ and consider how this affects their moral philosophy approaches.
