Republicanism and Public Sphere in Kant: A Social Reconstruction of Justice

This paper aims to make a social reconstruction of Kantian justice beyond its metaphysical and moral limits from the relation between republicanism and public sphere. For Kant, republicanism is the only form of government capable of balancing the bond between freedom, law, and power. In the republican constitution, there is the strengthening of citizenship and the deliberative public sphere. About the social dimension of justice, Kant argues that the State of Law has the constitutional legitimacy to tax the richest in order to create social assistance for the poorest.
