General traits of action, treatment and fungal resistance to fluconazol <b>[Abstract in English]</b>
Abstract
Objectives: The main of this work was to show the way and action specter, the characteristics of the treatment and mechanisms of resistance of fungi to fluconazol, making possible to the health workers the use of this paper in the prevention of the dissemination of this resistance.Method: A revision in the specialized literature of the international data bases SCIELO, LILACS and HIGHWIRE was carried through.
Results: The fluconazole is a composed synthetic bitriazolic, used in wide scale in an isolated way or in combination with other drugs in the treatment of diseases caused by fungus. It has wide action spectrum, including species of Candida, Cryptococcus, Histoplasma and Paracoccidioidis.
Conclusions: The indiscriminate use of this drug, mainly in immunosupressed patients, it is presenting negative signs in the treatment of the fungical diseases now, because it is selecting resistant stumps more and more resistents becoming more difficult the combat of these new generations of fungus, needing in the future of a more potent antifungical.
