To be carrying of diabetes type 2: taking care of itself to continue living <b>[Abstract in English]</b>
Abstract
Objective: The goal of this study is to know what the type 2 diabetic patients know about the cares that must have to remain themselves steady preventing decurrent complications of this pathology.Methods: This paper treat of a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive nature research. The acquisition of the data occurred between March and April of 2004, by means of interview with eleven diabetes’s carriers residents at Ijuí/RS town. For the information analysis it was proceeded ordination, classification and final analysis of the data.
Results: The data had been grouped in two categories of analysis. The first one approaches referring questions to the knowledge of the carrying patients of diabetes concerning self-care and the second category refers about who supply informations and orientations.
Discussion: The study allowed to identify that the carrying patients of diabetes live deeply modifications in your daily, for the stability maintenance of the disease, especially in respect to the feeding. The healthcare professionals have important function, accomplishing orientations, clarifications and supplying necessary support for this patients.
