Interventions facing premature birth: a theoretical review <b>[Abstract in English]</b>
Abstract
Objective: The present paper seeks to muse upon interventions with premature newborns staying at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, that have been considered positive in the field of public health.Methods: Bibliographical review using Psychlit database and textbooks.
Results and conclusions: In public health, the attention to child’s care underwent a historic evolution. Currently, we observe a concern not only with infants, but also with babies that need neonatal intensive treatment. This concern encompasses both technological care and the baby’s psychobiological and social well-being. The interventions with premature newborns staying at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that have been considered positive in the field of public health, such as technical procedures by the health care providers that assist the premature babies, scales used, the Touchpoints model, support and information for the parents.
