Resumen

La pandemia de COVID-19 ha promovido el uso intensivo de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) para las actividades cotidianas. Frente a comprensiones conflictivas sobre los impactos del uso de estas tecnologías en la salud mental, el presente estudio buscó profundizar el conocimiento actual, a la luz de esa experiencia. En junio/2020, 327 adultos (M=43,56) respondieron una encuesta on-line sobre el uso de las TIC en comparación con antes de la pandemia, la ansiedad (GAD-7) y el bienestar (WEMWBS). Los resultados mostraron que además de la asociación positiva entre intensidad de uso y ansiedad, entre los propósitos se destacó el uso intenso “para buscar información”, a pesar del conocimiento de la difusión de información no confiable. Asimismo, se identificó una asociación negativa entre la percepción de bajo uso de nuevos propósitos y el grado de bienestar, indicando la expectativa de más usos de estos recursos. Paralelamente a la continuidad de investigaciones atentas a desarrollos coyunturales, los hallazgos sugieren repensar lineamientos de salud relacionados al uso de las TIC en el escenario pospandemia.
