Abstract

This paper discusses the complex relationship between the means of communication and society in a world increas-ingly dependent on technology. The author questions the role of the media and the potential of the receiver, considering that the technological development of the communications is not a substitute for comprehension.

Edgar Morin, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique


Antropólogo, sociólogo e filósofo francês. Pesquisador emérito do Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Formado em Direito, História e Geografia, realizou estudos em Filosofia, Sociologia e Epistemologia. Autor de mais de trinta livros, entre eles: O método (6 volumes), Introdução ao pensamento complexo,Ciência com consciência e Os sete saberes necessários para a educação do futuro.
