Abstract

After the emergence of new forms of telecommunication and the Internet in our daily lives, the press and media experts are constantly questioning the future of writing and the book: will these survive the avalanche of digital forms of transmission of knowledge? Will computers eliminate paper support, turning it into luxury reserved for a minority of privileged nostalgics? And, in particular, will the year 2000 mark the end of the Gutenberg era and goodbye to books?
