This article, produced by the researcher Ricardo Ferreira Freitas (UERJ), discuss about three Simmel texts written for the Berlin press, inspired by his anguish during the First World War: "The Idea of Europe", published on March 7th, 1915, in the Berliner Tageblatt; "Europe and America in World History", published on July 4th, 1915, at the Berliner Tageblatt; and "Bergson and the german cynicism", published on November 1st, 1914, at the Internationale Wochenschrift für Wissenschaft, Kunst und Technik.
