Abstract

The article aims to observe how in the context of the productions of Argentinean writer Ricardo Piglia, the constant interchange between translation and fiction occurs in his writings. The analyses starts by texts such as Los diarios de Emilio Renzi, the short stories from Nombre falso and the essays from Crítica y ficción, which are fundamental to understand one of the most original projects of Argentine literature in the twentieth century. We also intend to understand the function and the space of translation in the history of Argentine literature and the relevance of the foreign text to the formation of a national literature, in a discussion that is also oriented by the production of Ricardo Piglia.
