Social relations and social issue in the historical trajectory of Brazilian Social Work

Abstract

They are discussed, in this article, the themes that give subsidies for the understanding of the peculiar social relationships to the capitalist social system, linked to the social question, to the origins and development of the Social Work in Brazil. To establish the relationship of the Social Work with the social question and with the social politics of the State, elements of the liberal State were debated, of the controller State, and the political and social functions of the modern State. They were reconstituted the processes that turned the Social Work a profession, the amplification of its labor market and the expansion of the units of teaching of Social Work. Being revised the historical trajectory of the Social Work in the Brazilian society, lights are offered for the current discussions of the profession and its questions in relation to the changes projected for the future.
