Abstract

The event described here was to provide a different lesson to the students of this Marist unit, through a live broadcast for astronomical observation of the Craters of the Moon, captured by a Telescope. The relative accessibility of the school public in question to social media (Facebook in this case) proved to be a potential ally as a virtual teaching and learning environment. Among the interactions of approximately 500 comments it was possible to establish a productive dialogue with the students, which lasted 60 minutes. Different fields of physics were contextualized, such as Kinematics, Wave and Optics, to the main concepts of Astronomy. The interest on the part of the public that accompanied the broadcast was remarkable, and the more than 2300 views suggest that it is an area of knowledge that instigates the curiosity of the school community in general.
