Weapons, letters and virtues: The representation of the woman in “Brasileiras célebres”, by Joaquim Norberto
Keywords:
Mulher, História, Nacionalidade e RepresentaçãoAbstract
Joaquim Norberto’s, Brasileiras célebres, integrates our historiography as a transitional work, in a sense that this text constitutes a pioneer place to express the female representation. It furnishes the visibility to life and production of some notorious women from the eighteen hundreds, as well as it gives ratification to effective values and customs on the patriarchal society of that century. To analyze and to discuss the textual process of this historiographer, yet perceiving the place his work occupy in the milieu of historiography tradition in Brazil, are the primordial aims of this present essay.Downloads
