Figures institutionalized by the Brazilian canon: black man as the person of the national Literature

This essay aims to analyze how blackness is represented in the Brazilian Literary Canon. During the naturalism, some stereotypes were formed. This work intends to discuss the characters that show a prejudiced image of black people and the characters that break the naturalist paradigm.Downloads
