This is a study that proposes to examine a register of the intimate diary what the painter Frida Kahlo produced in the last ten years of his life. For their analysis, we rest on the enunciative perspective of the language, taking as a support the text Semiology of the Language (1969), written by the linguist of the enunciation Émile Benveniste. In this text the author defends the idea of which all semiology of non-linguistic system resorts to the language for his interpretation, since that one “cannot exist otherwise in and for the semiology of the language” (BENVENISTE, 1989, p. 61). The language is the interpretante of all the systems, the linguistic ones and the non-linguistic ones. This work aims, so, through the analysis of the corpus, to show up that the language is the only system able to interpret itself and the other sign systems.Downloads
