The present research aims to analyze the ecclesial experience of Saint Teresa of Jesus, her painful experience and the ecclesial context marked by the Protestant Reformation. Then, her mystical itinerary is discussed, in which it is noticed that her ecclesial consciousness is expanding to the point of understanding herself as a daughter of the Church. The aim of this study is to analyze, above all, the eminently Christological character of Teresian ecclesiology. In Teresa’s view, the Church brings together Christ’s good friends, who, being faithful to the Master, are willing to lay down their own lives for Him.
