Sports studies in the communication field: an overview and some proposal

The article presents an overview of Communication studies related to sport. In order to do so, it starts with a brief international overview, followed by a discussion about the Brazilian scenario. The second part entitled “Perspectives”, points out contributions of the discipline to the Sport Studies (made by works from different academic areas) and presents a program for researching the topic from a communicational perspective. Finally the third section discusses how sport studies can contribute to the Communication field.Downloads
