Meios e Audiências: a emergência dos estudos de recepção no Brasil (2008) is coordinated by Cultural Studies researcher Nilda Jacks (from Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul/UFRGS), who integrates the team of authors along her supervisees Daiane Menezes and Elisa Piedras. The book presents a contemporary view of media reception, one rather different from that seen through the old eye-patches – the so-called "ideologized" - of the pre-1990s. Therefore, this review aims to identify Jacks' main ideas and conceptions of media reception.
