Abstract

SBT Brasil, in the everyday boringness of television news, seems to have a difference. It's the performance of its host, Ana Paula Padrão, that seems to possess some very unique characteristics in the production of meaning. We'll try to understand such semiological practices through Roland Barthes' theoretical and methodological presumptions, on its linguistic and translinguistic characteristics. We’ll take into account the production of meaning, on its verbal and non-verbal levels, mainly from the broadcasts of august 15th, 2005 and june 5th, 2006.
