Abstract

Situated at the crossroads between the human and social sciences, this book addresses, from several points, the dialectical relationship between media and violence. The expression "media violence" refers to the problem of content, but also to its staging and its "imposition" on the viewer by the information system and the cultural industry. This phenomenon must be understood in all its complexity, articulating the three dimensions of production, regulation and reception of the image.
