Abstract

This work analyzes some aspects of the role of the silence in the visual texts structure and the function of the ideological deafness in communicational processes.

Author Biography

Eduardo Peñuela Cañizal, Universidade de São Paulo

Possui graduação pela Universidade de São Paulo (1959) e doutorado em Letras Neolatinas pela Universidade de São Paulo (1965). Atualmente é professor titular aposentado da Universidade de São Paulo, titular da Universidade Paulista - onde coordena o Programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação e Cultura. Vice-presidente - International Association for Visual Semiotics- e professor credenciado no programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação e Educação da Universidade Autônoma de Barcelona. Foi um dos fundadores do primeiro Programa de Ciências da Comunicação do País, em 1973; Coordenador desse Programa por vários anos e Diretor da Escola de Comunicações e Artes da USP na década de 1990.
