It is discussed in this work how clothes express the corporeal self of women, through cultural and historical clues of how femininity can be understood. Fashion can serve as an ally of women in their quest for space in the midst of culture, in the world of work and for recognition as a human being. However, fashion can also be an obstacle to egalitarian expression, limiting the possibilities of physical agility and / or integration in the social environment. Dressing, then, is to be understood not as a form of body protection, but as an ideological vehicle of both sexual attraction and the construction of historically determined femininity.Downloads
