Abstract

The poetry of António Ramos Rosa and Daniel Filipe profoundly marked Portugal in the second half of the 20th century, a time of great cultural, social and political upheaval in the country, which was experiencing the final half of the Salazar regime, which would fall in 1974. The purpose of this article is to analyze, under the reflections of the Italian philosopher Giorgio Agamben on the contemporary, how the poetry of António Ramos Rosa and Daniel Filipe experienced a contemporary aesthetic time among themselves, choosing themes such as the inadequacy to bureaucratic work and the choice of love as a libertarian attitude towards the cultural, social and political oppression experienced by them. It will be analyzed the according poems “[Não posso adiar o coração para o próximo século]” and “Poema dum funcionário cansado”, by Ramos Rosa; and “A invenção do amor” and “[Anjo de fogo]”, by Daniel Filipe.
