Abstract

The cultures which precede the inca empire in the andine peruvian region present a great diversity related to the process of integration and regionalism verified along 2000 years. However, some representative aspects of the first andine integration promoted by the Chavin de Huantar culture influenced the societies which come bater. This article intends to analyse the characteristical elements of the Chavin culture and its permanence in the posterior iconographic manifestations.
