Abstract

The article deals with some of the historiographic debates about the comparative method in History which occurred in a time Trame that goes from the beginning to the end of the twentieth century. It shows the advantages and risks of such method and emphasizes the comparative proposal developed by the team from the Centre de Re­cherches Comparées sur les Sociétés Anciennes.
