Abstract

The Padaria América is the oldest one in Curitiba. The tradition of buying and making bread has passed from father to son. In this article I will try to understand this tradition and, I will look for its meanings trough the oral history. I understand that this tradition, which was built up along the years, was strengthened through moments of tension and rupture and the client’s search especially in the memory and history that those rye’s breads hide.
