Abstract

Whilst communities believe that they are bonded by endearment ties (“primordial”), whose origins over time are very faraway, ethnicity scholars are always showing that identity representations are constructed and subject to historical reelaborations. The paper reflects upon the concurrency of these two discourses, particularly in the light of oral history studies.
