Abstract

In this text are presented some results of a research about the creation and development of the rural settlement known as “Banhado do Colégio”, at the beginning of the 1960th. The ideas and reflections of Maurice Halbwachs on collective memory are emphasized and examined, because they guide this work based on oral history.
