The first "scientific journey" to the New World produced a set of reports focused on several different aspects. One of them is the "Relation abrége", a text of one of its protagonists about his journey across the Amazon River. Our objective here is to propose a reflection on the work conditions that led to the "Relation abrége", as well as on how the work was received in Europe.Downloads
