Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The text follows the journal's formatting requirements according to the "Guidelines for Authors"found in the "Submissions" section.
  • It is mandatory to fill in the Article Cover, with the article information. This document must be forwarded separately at the time of submission.

Author Guidelines

The journal publishes scientifical articles of the Theology area, which are unpublished and are result of research, not submitted simultaneously to another journal, in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian, French and German; reviews of works to the interest of the area, published in Brazil or abroad.

The journal adopts the updated reference standard of ABNT (ABNT - General Rules).

The author must keep his registration profile updated and, for submission of a new text, fill out the following requirements:

  • full name with the correct spelling;
  • Orcid number (see: orcid.org);
  • affiliation: institution, city, state and country;
  • e-mail;
  • complete physical postal address of the corresponding author, which may be the institutional address, provided at the end of the article;
  • research funding source (if any);
  • potential conflicts of interest (if any).

Optionally, the authors may indicate at the end of the article: a) acknowledgements; b) mini curriculum: academic and professional informations.

Submitted files must be in open text format (Word).

Texts originally written in a foreign language must contain title, abstract and keywords in Portuguese.

The References’ List is presented at the end of the article, according to the standards in ABNT– General Rules.

Biblical References and Church Magisterium are written in the text between parenthesis, in full or in acronyms Examples: (Mt 5,1-12; Lc 4,20-22; GS 25 ou Gaudium et Spes 25). When necessary, add the meaning of the acronym or abbreviation in parenthesis or in a footnote. For biblical citation s and ss is not used after the verse number. Ex.: Lc 4,20-22, not Lc 4,20ss.

Greek and Hebrew characters are preferably written with BibleWorks fonts (available on: www.bibleworks.com./fonts.html). If these fonts are not used, they must be transliterated. Other non-latin characters are equaly transliterated.

Texts cited in foreign languages must be translated and written in the body of the article and the original version must be put in the footnotes, when useful.

The contribution must be original and unpublished and cannot be undergoing evaluation for publication by another journal; if not, justify in “Comments to the editor” when submitting the text in the portal.

Publication of papers is subject to approval by reviewers. The originality of treatment of the theme, the consistency and rigor of the approach and its contribution to the thematic line of the publication are considered. The names of the reviewers will remain confidential, and the names of the authors before the reviewers will also be omitted.

The author’s name must be removed from the text and from the “Document’s Properties (Option of the menu “File" of the MS Word), in order to assure the blind evaluation ad hoc evaluators.

Spontaneous submission of articles and subsequent acceptance for publication automatically implies the assignment of the rights of the first publication to the Journal. Intellectual copyright remains with the author. Any subsequent reproduction, by any means, may be made only by prior agreement between the Journal, the author and with proper citation of the source.

The concepts issued in the works are the sole responsibility of the authors, not necessarily reflecting the opinion of the Editorial Board or Editorial Council.

Articles

This section only accepts scientific, copyrighted, original and unpublished articles, in free themes.

Section Features:

  • The first page must contain: title, abstract and keywords in the original language of the article and in English (or in Portuguese, if the original language of the article is English).
  • Texts with up to three authors are accepted, with degrees not inferior to the completed master's degree.
  • Maximum 20 pages.
  • Bibliographic indications are in the body of the text, in parentheses, in the Author-Date system.

Reviews

This section accepts book presentations and appraisals in the form of a summary (review) and/or a critical review (review).

Section Features:

  • The first page must contain the bibliographical indication of the reviewed book.
  • Texts by only one author are accepted, with a degree not inferior to the completed master's degree.
  • Maximum 5 pages for a review, and 3 for a review.

Section Features:

  • The first page must contain: title, abstract and keywords in the original language of the article and in English (or in Portuguese, if the original language of the article is English).
  • Texts with up to three authors are accepted, with degrees not inferior to the completed master's degree.
  • Maximum 20 pages.
  • Bibliographic indications are in the body of the text, in parentheses, in the Author-Date system.

Dossiê: Laicato na Igreja e no mundo

This section only accepts scientific, authorial, original and unpublished articles, according to the theme of the dossier.

Section Features:

  • The first page must contain: title, abstract and keywords in the original language of the article and in English (or in Portuguese, if the original language of the article is English).
  • Texts with up to three authors are accepted, with degrees not inferior to the completed master's degree.
  • Maximum 20 pages.

Dossier: Holiness and Public Responsibility

This section only accepts scientific, authorial, original and unpublished articles, according to the theme of the dossier.

Section Features:

  • Texts with up to three authors are accepted, with degrees not inferior to the completed master's degree.
