Through the compilation of the verdicts issued by the Court of Final Appeal of the Macao Special Administrative Region, this article investigates, from an introductory study, the need and feasibility of building a Portuguese Chinese parallel corpus in the legal area, as well as the development of strategies to be applied as a methodological resource in computer aided translation tools, with the aim of seeking ways to increase not only the efficiency but also the quality of the translation.
