The principals in the last segment of the basic education in Mexico

The last segment of the Basic education in Mexico is the school cycle that has presented the highest number of problems in education. It has been very difficult to answer the specific interests of the population aged between 12 and 16 years of age. In this age group they present the highest indices of failures and dropout rate and the terminal efficiency is low. The principals that work with that educational level, play an important role in the different indicators of educational quality that are part of the educational policy at the national and international level.. This article offers a panoramic view of the principal behavior in Mexican schools that is presented through nine questions that open a debate about the importance of have a professional more involved in the preparation of the students more than concentrate in the task of administrative matters, answer to bureaucratic questions that lead to improvement in school building, or in search for economic quotas to meet the maintenance costs.Downloads
