Abstract

Placed between the abundance of the publishing market and the work with reading in the schools, the educational evaluation of literary works carried out under the National Program of the School Library (PNBE) involves challenges and risks that need to be analyzed in light of the selection process. This study discusses the challenges that the process brings to the evaluators by examining aspects of both implicit and explicit criteria made in the edict for the selection of works. It also reflects on the risks, assessing the scope and limits of this evaluation process, whether in relation to the market, literature and school.

Author Biography

Rildo José Cosson Mota, UFMG

Rildo Cosson concluiu o doutorado em Letras pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul em 1998 e realizou pós-doutoramento em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais em 2007. Foi professor da Universidade Federal do Acre, Universidade Federal de Pelotas e Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais atuando na graduação e pós-graduação em Letras e Educação. É autor dos livros Escolas do Legislativo, Escolas de Democracia (2008), Fronteiras Contaminadas - Literatura como jornalismo e jornalismo como literatura no Brasil dos anos 1970 (2007), Letramento literário: teoria e prática (2006), O livro e o gênero (2002), Romance-Reportagem (2001). Tem organizado livros, publicado artigos e participado em congressos nacionais e internacionais sobre letramento político e letramento literário. Atualmente é professor do Programa de Pós-Graduação do Centro de Formação, Treinamento e Aperfeiçoamento (Cefor) da Câmara dos Deputados e pesquisador do Centro de Alfabetização, Leitura e Escrita (Ceale) da Faculdade de Educação da UFMG.
