Cambios en la estructura de la transición escuela-trabajo en Brasil

Resumen

Este artículo analiza en detalle los cambios en las estructuras que vinculan el sistema educacional y el mercado laboral en Brasil en los últimos 30 años. Usando la metodología de linkages propuesta por DiPrete et al. (2017) y Elbers (2021), identificamos cambios en la trayectoria entre educación y ocupación que ocurrieron a partir de la rápida expansión educacional brasileña, distinguiendo entre cambios en la composición y la estructura de la conexión escuela-trabajo. Nuestros resultados muestran que el incremento en el nivel de escolaridad no ha impactado sustancialmente la distribución ocupacional de los trabajadores brasileños, pero si ha tenido impactos distintos para trabajadores de diferentes grupos etarios y para trabajadores con diplomas universitarios en base a su campo de estudio. Esos resultados sugieren que las características de la expansión educacional brasileña en los últimos 30 anos – i.e., privatización, concentración de áreas de estudio, y discrepancia de calidad – contribuyeron al debilitamiento del vínculo entre el sistema educacional y el mercado laboral.
